FAQ
Basic answers about using Pronunciation Lab, understanding scores, recording correctly, and getting support.
What is Pronunciation Lab?
Pronunciation Lab is a speech-performance training tool for English learners who want clearer and more stable spoken English.
Is Pronunciation Lab an accent reduction app?
No. Pronunciation Lab does not train accent imitation. The goal is clear, stable, intelligible English speech.
Who is it for?
It is designed mainly for intermediate to advanced English speakers, IELTS learners, professionals, and tutors who want structured pronunciation practice.
How does the app work?
Each module follows a simple loop: diagnostic, drills, retest, and next diagnostic. The diagnostic checks your speech, drills help repair the main issue, and the retest checks improvement.
What scores do I receive?
You receive two scores: Intelligibility and Stability. Both are scored from 0 to 10.
What score do I need to pass?
To pass a diagnostic, you need 8 or higher in both Intelligibility and Stability.
Why can’t I repeat the diagnostic immediately?
If you do not pass a diagnostic, you complete the recommended drills and retest first. The next diagnostic attempt becomes available later according to the app’s progression rules.
Why did I get drills?
Drills appear when the diagnostic shows that one area needs repair practice. They are chosen to match the main issue detected.
Why does the app show only one main issue?
The app shows one main issue at a time to keep feedback clear and actionable. Focusing on one priority usually works better than showing a long technical list.
What is a retest?
A retest checks whether your speech improved after practice. It is not the same as a diagnostic and does not replace the next diagnostic.
Can background noise affect my result?
Yes. For best results, record in a quiet place, keep your microphone close, and speak clearly at a natural speed.
Should I speak slowly?
Speak clearly, but naturally. Speaking too slowly may affect the result because the app is designed to check realistic speech performance.
What happens after the trial ends?
After a trial ends, users may still be able to log in and view progress, but training features such as recording, diagnostics, and drills require active access.
Will I lose progress if I stop using the app?
Your progress is designed to be saved so you can continue from your current pathway when access is active again.
Who do I contact for support?
